La Rabida volunteer and high school senior Andrea, has a passion for education and looking for ways to support the kids at La Rabida. “My heart has been touched by so many tiny, little hands…I am always looking for ways to help [the kids] more.”
When Andrea heard that La Rabida was looking for opportunities to raise money for its tutoring program, Andrea was sparked by the notion of, “kids giving back to kids.” She pitched a fundraising opportunity to her high school administration, in which students could help raise money for La Rabida’s tutoring program by hosting a movie night at her school. Not only has she received her school’s support, but also the support of five other area schools.
Andrea’s passion for volunteerism at La Rabida is driven by the kids, “I value education; these students who utilize La Rabida’s tutoring show they want to grow with their education by just showing up, and that inspires me to support them.”
Andrea is planning to get her degree in pediatric neurology, and she looks forward to continuing to volunteer with La Rabida while she’s in school. Thank you Andrea for your support!
